Stuttgart (dpa) – In the dispute over the relocation of national handball players, former world champion goalkeeper Johannes Bitter does not expect the Bundesliga clubs to refuse.
“I don’t think the clubs will confront each other. Everyone knows how important the national team is,” said the 38-year-old national goalkeeper of the “Stuttgarter Zeitung” and the “Stuttgarter Nachrichten”.
Recently, the Handball Bundesliga (HBL) teamed up with its clubs to write a sample letter to the national associations in which the clubs clearly expressed concerns. The main concern of the clubs is that their players should be quarantined after returning from their national team. HBL -spitze and the German Handball Federation (DHB) have been trying for days to find a solution. On Wednesday, the clubs will now decide how to proceed.
“The issue must be resolved in dialogue and with the help of politics,” said Bitter.
