Cologne (dpa) – A permit for more than 300 spectators at the international football match between Germany and Switzerland on Tuesday (8.45 p.m. / ARD) in Cologne is at least mathematically excluded.

After the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days in Cologne had increased further to 59.7 on Sunday, it could in no case fall below the required number of 35 on Monday.

The city pointed out on Saturday that the final decision would not be taken until Monday. To include 9,200 visitors instead of 300, the 7-day incidence would have to drop below 35. In two Bundesliga matches of 1. FC Köln and last week’s international match against Turkey (3: 3), the city refused to allow 9200 spectators based on the number that was exceeded.

In Cologne, a nightly alcohol ban in public areas and a mask obligation in pedestrian zones has been in force since Saturday. The team of national coach Joachim Löw will meet Switzerland in the Nations League.
