Stuttgart (dpa) – National coach Joachim Löw immediately after the 1: 1 (0: 0) restart against Spain after the Corona hiatus, the European Football Association’s rule changes were unusually clearly criticized.
“Now it would have made sense,” said Löw, referring to the only three changes allowed in the Nations League games. In the aftermath of the corona pandemic, five substitutions were allowed in UEFA competitions, but this remains the case for the Bundesliga.
“If not now, then when?” Asked Löw on Thursday evening at ZDF in Stuttgart. “Some of our players were running on the gum.” Moreover, a “hammer program” is now awaiting, especially for the national players. “As a coach, I am only partially happy with that.”
