Zurich (dpa) – After the Bundesliga and UEFA, FIFA has also drawn up an extensive corona protocol, including the controversial regulations for the release of national players during the pandemic.

In contrast to the international matches in September, the lifting of the parking obligation is now subject to conditions, but the world football association still meets the requirements of the European professional clubs with the new requirements.

Clubs are not required to evict their players if there is a mandatory five-day quarantine or travel restriction to any of these locations at the club’s site or the venue of the international match. On the other hand, there is an obligation to downgrade if the authorities have granted the teams a “specific exceptional permit”. The rule is initially valid until the end of the year for the international competition windows in October and November.

Recently, representatives of several Bundesliga clubs have sharply criticized the obligation to park and expressed concern that players could miss their clubs’ matches due to quarantine regulations. Polish Hertha professional Krzysztof Piątek was not allowed to participate in the cup match against Eintracht Braunschweig (4: 5) in September due to a Berlin quarantine regulation.

The German national team’s games in October are also covered by the new rules, as the DFB professionals are not in Ukraine or after returning from the Nations League match in Kyiv (October 10) for the next match in Cologne against the Switzerland ( October 13) is in danger of going into quarantine

The North Rhine-Westphalia Corona Protection Ordinance states that the quarantine requirement does not apply to a corona test series on business trips to Ukraine that cannot be postponed. National coach Joachim Löw and his players can prove this series of tests.
