In the district of Lüneburg, police arrested a person from the Islamic scene, apparently thwarting a planned attack. Multiple objects were searched.
On Friday evening, police raided the districts of Stade and Lüneburg and arrested a suspect of an Islamist terrorist. The reason for this was “serious indications of an imminent serious crime,” the Lüneburg police said in its press release. Police see no reference to the attack in Vienna a few days ago.
The arrested person is now in long-term detention, which can last up to 14 days. This was preceded by an intensive investigation and search for the suspect. He should be brought to court soon.
