They wanted to work at the Westbahnhof in Aachen. But two police cars collided with each other during their blinking blue light. The officers all had to go to hospital.
Five police officers were seriously injured in a collision between two patrol cars in Aachen. On Saturday evening around 9 p.m., numerous emergency calls came in about a major brawl near the Westbahnhof, police said.
Several patrol cars from the city center were sent to the indicated location. On the way, two emergency vehicles collided at an intersection when they tried to turn off with flashing lights and siren at the same time. All five police officers were seriously injured and taken to nearby hospitals.
Those involved in the brawl could be arrested by other police officers, police said. Here too there were four minor injuries. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the rioters.
