Fellow favorite Primoz Roglic won the first mountain finish of the 107th Tour de France. The Slovenian won on Tuesday after 160.5 kilometers from Sisteron to Orcières-Merlette before his fellow countryman Tadej Pogacar. The hopeful German Emanuel Buchmann reached the finish on the 1,825 meter high ski station a few seconds behind the former ski jumper Roglic.
Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe successfully defended the lead in the general classification. That means that the superstar will wear the yellow jersey for the 17th time in his career on Wednesday. The sprinters are in demand again in the fifth stage. More than 183 kilometers from Gap to Privas, there are only two mountains of the fourth category.
