Frankfurt (dpa) – Borussia Mönchengladbach’s sports director Max Eberl is calm over speculation about a possible change from coach Marco Rose to Bundesliga rival Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
At the moment, the chances are “very high” that the coach will stay in Gladbach after the summer, “because he has a contract, because we are successful and because there is nothing,” Eberl told Sky TV on the sidelines of the game. Eintracht Frankfurt and added, “Right now the probability is 99 percent.”
He has a good relationship with Rose. Eberl did not want to explicitly comment on whether the coach had an exit clause. That is also inconclusive. “The coach must be convinced of a club. We are an exciting club. It must be a big step to abandon it,” said the sports director and emphasized: “Time will tell what happens”. He has not yet received a call from the director of Borussia Dortmund, Hans-Joachim Watzke. BVB divorced the Swiss Lucien Favre on Sunday.
Rose insisted that he did not address and comment on the rumors. “I don’t really notice the excitement because I don’t really care. Because we all need every ounce of energy in the club to perform,” said the coach, who came to Borussia in 2019. He feels comfortable in the club, the cooperation with Eberl is good.
