Pranab is responding to treatment

The kidney condition of former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee has improved. The Anandbazar newspaper quoted a Delhi Army Hospital source as saying that he was responding to treatment. Pranab is undergoing treatment for a lung infection. However, veteran Congress leaders are still in a deep coma.

The hospital’s bulletin stated, “He is still on ventilator support. Hospital officials said that blood circulation in his body is stable. ‘Pranab’s blood pressure, heart and pulse rate are also stable.

Pranab Mukherjee was admitted to the Army Hospital in Delhi for about three weeks. He fell on his home toilet on 9 August and suffered a head injury. He was admitted to the Army Hospital in Delhi Cantonment on 10 August with neurological problems. He underwent head surgery on the same day.

His Kovid-19 infection was also detected in tests before surgery. He has been in the hospital ever since.
