Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim mourns President Peter Hofmann. He passed away on Friday at the age of 61. Hofmann was with the club for five decades.
The former president of the Bundesliga football club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim is dead. According to the club, Peter Hofmann died on Friday at the age of 61 “after a serious illness”. Hofmann was diagnosed with leukemia shortly before Christmas, according to the newspaper “Bild”. After complications, he was admitted to Heidelberg University Hospital in August.
Hofmann came to TSG as a seven-year-old and had been with the club for more than five decades. He has been running the club since 1996.
“With Peter Hofmann, we lost a man who knew TSG and lived like no other. His work will be unforgettable. We will miss him very much,” said TSG partner Dietmar Hopp of his companion. Hofmann was the longest-serving president in the Bundesliga.
