Berlin (dpa) – After his positive corona test, Manuel Akanji of Bundesliga football club Borussia Dortmund is not allowed to fly to the game of the Swiss national team against Spain.

Xherdan Shaqiri, who tested positive on Monday, is no longer contagious and is therefore allowed to participate in the Nations League game on Saturday, the SDA agency reports, citing the Swiss Football Association (SFV).

At Akanji, everything points to a new infection, said team doctor Martin Maleck in an interview with the SFV. The 25-year-old Dortmund defender is currently in isolation and is showing no symptoms.

A blood test on midfielder Shaqiri, on the other hand, gave a reliable indication of the presence of antibodies. The UEFA Health Committee now decides whether the Liverpool FC player can also play in the match against Spain.
