Rome / Paris (AP) – Champions League finalist Paris Saint-Germain borrows Alessandro Florenzi from AS Roma.
The 29-year-old Italian national footballer is initially loaned to France for a year, both clubs announced on Friday evening. Then the club of coach Thomas Tuchel has a purchase option. Florenzi replaces Thomas Meunier at the French top club, who has switched to Borussia Dortmund.
The 36-time national player Florenzi was born in Rome, trained in the youth section of the Serie A club and has since played with two short breaks for the Roma, who he also led as captain in the meantime. The right back was recently loaned to Spanish club FC Valencia for six months. In his 279 appearances for AS Roma, Florenzi has scored 28 goals.
