Salzburg (AP) – Austrian football champion Red Bull Salzburg has entered the group stage of the Champions League. Coach Jesse Marsch’s team won the qualifying return game against Maccabi Tel Aviv from Israel 3-1 (2-1).

Salzburg had already won the first leg with 2-1. German referee Felix Brych showed Maccabi coach Georgios Donis the yellow-red card in injury time in the first half.

In the group drawing next Thursday, FK Krasnodar from Russia and FC Midtjylland from Denmark are also in the pot. The third of the Russian championship won 2-1 (0-0) at Paok Saloniki in Greece. The current fifth at the table had also won the first leg 2-1. After a 0-0 victory in the first leg, the Danish champion Midtjylland beat Slavia Prague 4-1 (0-1) thanks to four goals in the second half.
