Berlin (AP) – Jong Oranje player Arne Maier is again dissatisfied with his situation at Hertha BSC and is considering leaving the Berlin Bundesliga club this season.
“After his long-term injuries, Arne now has to play more. Short appearances don’t help him,” Mier’s advisor, Wolfgang Damm, told Bild newspaper. The current situation is “not a good situation”.
Maier was substituted in the DFB Cup at Eintracht Braunschweig (4: 5) and at the Bundesliga opener in Werder Bremen (4: 1). As early as January of this year, he had publicly stated his intention to change during Jürgen Klinsmann’s time as Hertha coach, but ultimately stayed.
“We are looking for solutions. We also asked about a possible change of Arne”, says Damm. Hertha has currently refused a transfer. Maier still has a contract with the Berliners until 2022. The transfer time expires this year on October 5.
