US President Donald Trump has said that Saudi Arabia will also recognize Israel, following in the footsteps of the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. He made this remark while speaking to reporters at the White House on Tuesday.
The US president hoped that seven to nine countries would establish normal relations with Israel. It also includes Saudi Arabia.
Trump said that most countries in the Middle East are interested in an agreement with Israel.
According to AFP, Trump has also spoken to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz about the matter. Trump himself has confirmed the case.
After King Salman’s call, Trump said, “I have spoken to Saudi Arabia about this.” Decision will be taken in due time.
Trump said at least nine countries would soon recognize Israel. Despite being a warring country (against Israel), they are tired of fighting. These countries now want peace. They have been fighting for a long time. You are going to see something great. Peace is coming to the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Qatar has refused to establish normal relations with Israel despite US pressure. The country has called for reducing the suffering of the occupying Palestinians.
Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman, Lalwa al-Khatar said, “We do not think the normalization of relations is at the root of this crisis.” Therefore this initiative cannot solve the crisis.
Meanwhile, Israel has continued its violence in Palestine, establishing relations with the Arab countries of the Saudi region. Israel ordered the demolition of a mosque in Jerusalem on September 15, 2020, a day before the agreement was signed with the UAE and Bahrain. The bombing occurred immediately after the agreement was signed in the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has warned of a direct response to any aggression by the occupying forces. A statement from the group said, “Any aggression has to pay a price. And the answer will be direct. ‘
