Gelsenkirchen (AP) – FC Schalke 04 has to do without national player Suat Serdar and goalkeeper Ralf Fährmann indefinitely after the devastating start to the season in the Bundesliga.
National player Serdar suffered an unspecified muscle injury to his thigh, according to the club, which also caused him to cancel his trip to the national team.
Fährmann, a regular goalkeeper in previous games, suffered a muscle injury to the adductors in the last game at RB Leipzig (0: 4) after being diagnosed. He was replaced in Leipzig by Frederik Rönnow, from Frankfurt. With zero points and 1:15 goals, Schalke has the worst record a team has ever had after three games in the Bundesliga.
