Munich (dpa) – Sky and DAZN are not sending journalists to the FC Bayern Supercup final against Sevilla in Budapest for security reasons.
The pay-TV broadcaster and the paid ISP will be broadcasting the game live tonight, but the commentators are based in Germany. Budapest has been classified as a coronavirus risk area by the Robert Koch Institute.
“Sky is taking into account the changed situation in Budapest and, contrary to originally planned, will not be on site with personnel,” said a spokesman. “Regarding the safety and health of our employees, we decided to report from our studio in Unterföhring together with Wolff Fuss and Sebastian Hellmann.”
At DAZN it was said: “We planned the trip but canceled due to the Corona situation and are now reporting from Ismaning.” The commentator of the internet provider is Jan Platte and the moderator is Alexander Schlueter.
