Madrid (AP) – With a 1-0 (1-0) home win against Switzerland, Spain’s national team defended the top of the table in Group 4 of the Nations League.
The decisive goal was scored in Madrid by Mikel Oyarzabal of the first division team Real Sociedad San Sebastián in the 14th minute. Swiss captain Granit Xhaka had slipped away earlier.
The Swiss, who will face Germany on Tuesday (8.45 p.m. / ARD) in Cologne, is still at the bottom of the group after the defeat in Madrid. The Swiss had to do without Manuel Akanji of Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, which tested positive for the corona virus.
