Barcelona (AP) – National player Marc-Andre ter Stegen has received special praise from coach Ronald Koeman for his convincing comeback to FC Barcelona’s goal.
“Our goalkeeper Marc was perfect today and he showed once again that we have a good goalkeeper,” said Koeman after the 2-1 in the Champions League against Dynamo Kiev. “He showed his qualities tonight.”
The 28-year-old ter Stegen had not played a game for Barcelona since the 2: 8 against FC Bayern Munich in the final tournament of the Champions League due to an operation on his knee. “I am very happy, I couldn’t be happier to be back on the field and with a victory. It is a nice comeback,” Ter Stegen told the club’s own TV channel on Wednesday evening. “It’s very good for the feeling.” The club is at the top of Group G with nine points, ahead of Juventus Turin.
The former Gladbach player has been playing for the Spanish top club since 2014. Since then he has won the Champions League, the Spanish Championship and the Spanish Cup, among others. Ter Stegen recently extended its contract until 2025. The contract therefore includes a fixed transfer fee of 500 million euros.
