Shortly after the kick-off in the Allianz Arena in Munich, loud popping noises could be heard from outside the stadium. For almost half a minute it burst with a loud echo. So loud that even ZDF commentator Oliver Schmidt pointed out that “gunshots outside the stadium” could be heard.
What was the cause? The “Bild” now reports with reference to a police spokesman from Munich: It was about “different groups of small people” lighting fireworks near the stadium. Officials are currently trying to identify these people. However, according to the initial findings, no live firearms were used.
