Paris (AP) – German tennis talent Daniel Altmaier was eliminated in the eighth finals of the French Open.

The 22-year-old from Kempen had to admit defeat to the number 17 seeded Spaniard Pablo Carreño Busta 2: 6, 5: 7, 2: 6. This means that no German professional is represented in the men’s competition at the Grand Slam tournament in Paris. US Open finalist Alexander Zverev had also failed the day before in the round of 16 against 19-year-old Italian Jannik Sinner.

Carreño Busta now faces number one in the world, Novak Djokovic in the battle for a place in the semi-finals. The 33-year-old Serb beat the Russian Karen Khachanov.
