Monte Carlo (dpa) – Tennis pro Alexander Zverev tried out new forms of training in the aftermath of the Corona crisis.

He and his team have developed “exercises that I was not familiar with before,” said seventh in the Hamburg world rankings to the German news agency: “This allowed me to get to know my body and certain muscle parts even better.” He too has to be creative and improvise, which “can be fun too,” said the 23-year-old.

The US Open finalist is currently preparing for the new tennis season, which will start differently than before due to the coronavirus pandemic. As expected, the Australian Open has been postponed for three weeks and should start on February 8th. The tennis year starts on January 5th with two tournaments in Turkey and Florida. From January 31 to February 6 there are two tournaments known as Melbourne 1 and Melbourne 2 in preparation, and from February 1 to 5 the ATP Cup, a team competition with two singles and one doubles per game.
