Cologne (dpa) – With the exception of Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen and SGS Essen, the favorites in the second round of the women’s DFB Cup showed no nudity.
The footballers of FC Bayern Munich won 2-0 (1-0) against the relegation of the first division FC Carl Zeiss Jena. They followed the defending champion VfL Wolfsburg, who had already advanced on Saturday with an 11-0 (5-0) victory over VfL Bochum.
SC Freiburg also had no problems. The Breisgau women also won 11-0 (6-0) at the Hesse division SC Opel Rüsselsheim. TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, however, had to tremble when they went against a 2-0 lead against second division FC Ingolstadt, but eventually won 4-2 after extra time. In addition, SV Meppen won 3-2 (2-1) at SV Henstedt-Ulzburg.
In Essen and Leverkusen, however, two Bundesliga clubs missed out on the march. In the Rhineland derby, Leverkusen lost 1-0 (0-0) to second division 1. FC Köln on Sunday evening. The SGS lost 3-2 on Saturday after extra time against FSV Gütersloh. The game between TV Jahn Delmenhorst and Walddörfer SV Hamburg had to be canceled due to positive corona test results from the Hanseatic residents.
