Dubai boasts and shines with superlatives. Now, in addition to the tallest building, the country also has the largest fountain – with water fountains shooting up more than a hundred meters.
After the tallest skyscraper, the metropolis of Dubai on the Arabian Gulf now also has the largest fountain in the world. The 1,335 square meter “Palm Fountain” was inaugurated on Thursday evening. Due to the corona pandemic, visitors wore respiratory masks and other hygiene rules also had to be observed.
Guinness Book of Records: largest fountain in the world
The Guinness Book of Records has officially named the palm fountain the largest structure of its kind in the world. According to Guinness information, the fountain’s sprinklers can shoot fountains up to 105 meters and the fountain is equipped with more than 3,000 LED lights. The fountain is located in The Pointe shopping and dining district on the artificial island of Palm Jumeirah, which is shaped like a palm tree.
