A four-year-old boy fell into a light shaft on a sports field in Grevenbroich, North Rhine-Westphalia, and was seriously injured in the process. The shaft was about twenty feet deep, police said. The boy was rescued by his father and then taken to a clinic by rescue helicopter.
The accident happened on Sunday afternoon. According to the current state of the investigation, the four-year-old was with other children and legal guardians on the sports field in the Neurath district of Grevenbroich and played there. Why it could fall into the shaft was still unclear.
