“The Sun”: Man United wants Gareth Bale to replace Jadon Sancho

Manchester (AP) – According to a report from the tabloid newspaper “The Sun”, Manchester United wants to sign Welsh national footballer Gareth Bale from Real Madrid.

That’s why the English record champions originally wanted to borrow the 31-year-old Bale. But Real Madrid, where Bale will no longer play a role despite a contract until 2022, should now reportedly be ready to sell the Welshman for around 20 million euros. One potential hurdle, however, is that the 31-year-old in Manchester would accept a pay cut and Real may have to pay a portion of Bale’s salary.

The preference of the Red Devils is the English international Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. BVB director Hans-Joachim Watzke categorically ruled out a change of Sancho. “Sancho’s whereabouts are set in stone,” Watzke told the German news agency in mid-August. The British media then reported an alleged “breakthrough” in Man United’s negotiations with Sancho. The 20-year-old, who still has a contract in Dortmund until 2023, will move to Old Trafford this summer, is still extremely unlikely.
