Düsseldorf (AP) – FC St. Pauli celebrated a convincing victory in the 2nd Bundesliga, but gave away the lead in the table.
Hamburg, which narrowly escaped relegation last year, last year beat the third 1. FC Heidenheim 4-2 (2-0) and has four points after two games. As St. Pauli scored two goals after a 4-0 lead in the 78th and 80th minutes, Erzgebirge Aue initially remained in first place due to the better goal difference. Aue could still be ousted by St. Pauli’s city rival Hamburger SV if it wins at the end of the game on Monday (8.30pm / Sky) at relegated SC Paderborn.
VfL Bochum and 1. FC Nürnberg are two of the six teams with four points. Bochum, which had lost a 2-0 lead at the start of the 2-2 win against St. Pauli, won 1-0 (1-0) at Karlsruher SC after a goal from Simon Zoller (14th), just as the previous Würzburger Kickers is still without a counter after two games. After a disappointing season, the ambitious Nürnberger again defeated SV Sandhausen 1-0 (0-0) thanks to Lukas Mühl (77th).
