The first change took place after eleven minutes at the Champions League match in Bruges. But none of the players had to leave the field, but the referee.
In the Champions League match of Bundesliga football club Borussia Dortmund against Club Brugge (here in the live ticker) the referee Damir Skomina was replaced early. After barely eleven minutes, the experienced referee from Slovenia had to leave the field on Wednesday and the fourth official Dragoslav Peric took over.
The reason for the change was an injury, which Skomina apparently sustained without any outside influence. Sky commentator Wolff Fuss said the referee injured his knee.
Skomina then continued the game as the fourth official.
