A man offers various weapons for sale. Police noticed him and found eight tons of weapons during a search in his garage – mostly from World War II.
During a house search, French police seized eight tons of weapons, most of which came from the Second World War. 1.3 tons of ammunition was also discovered in Annecy, south-east France, police said on Tuesday. Some of these ammunition stocks also come from the Second World War.
The search came after the arrest of a young man suspected of illegal arms trade. He had been selling weapons of various calibres for weeks. When he was arrested, nine small arms were found with him.
According to police, the suspect then led the detectives to garages in an industrial area last Friday where the enormous amounts of weapons and ammunition lay.
