Méribel (dpa) – The last Alpine stage of the 107th Tour de France over 175 kilometers from Méribel to La Roche-sur-Foron on Thursday is not as difficult as the climbing company the day before, but it still has its pitfalls.
At the end of the last climb to the Plateau des Glières, a mountain of the highest category, a gravel road of almost two kilometers awaits. A defect can have serious consequences here and can quickly take a minute. With the fast descent to the destination, that is hardly a catch-up on the last 31 kilometers. The stage also has some climbing passages to offer. In total, there are five mountain assessments to be addressed.
