Nice (AP) – Two days before the start of the Tour de France in Nice, the Lotto-Soudal team of German professional riders John Degenkolb and Roger Kluge removed two people from the support staff due to “non-negative” corona tests.
As the Belgian racing team announced, their housemates were also sent home as risk contact. “Safety remains the number one priority,” tweeted the race team, which gave no further information about the identity of those affected. One test was positive, the other had a suspicious result. In the first test six days before the tour, all drivers and team members tested negative. The start of the tour is not in danger.
