At least 18 people were killed in a bus accident in Thailand. Authorities say more than 40 other people were injured on Sunday when a freight train east of Bangkok collided with a bus. Dozens of passengers were on the bus on their way to a religious ceremony.
In the accident, the bus fell over and parts of the roof were torn off. Video footage of the accident showed the bus lurching over the rails before the freight train hit it in the side.

Thailand has one of the highest mortality rates in the world, according to a 2018 report from the World Health Organization (WHO). Most victims are motorcyclists, but bus accidents involving tourists and migrant workers are making headlines.
