“Trainer of the year” – Hansi Flick: “I don’t have to pretend”

Munich (dpa) – Hansi Flick sees his success at Bayern Munich as an argument for honest, serious and calm work. “It certainly doesn’t hurt to be like that and to work like that,” said the “coach of the year” to the “kicker”.

“Many are now surprisingly wondering how Flick can do it that way, previously he was just an assistant coach. Ultimately, life is about identifying with your role and position, working accordingly, and being loyal.”

In just ten months after taking over its predecessor Niko Kovac, Flick led FC Bayern to a championship triple, the DFB Cup and the Champions League. Players praise him for his association with footballers. “The nice thing is: I don’t have to pretend, I don’t have to pretend. That’s me who comes across in the original: how I see my fellow humans, how I work with my teams,” said the 53-year-old.
