The European Football Association is advising that the transfer window extend this summer to 5 October. To this end, the national federations received a request, UEFA announced after a meeting of the Executive Committee.
Clubs in the Champions League and Europa League must register their players for the 2021/22 season until 6 October. The group stage of the Eredivisie starts on 20/21 October and in the Europa League on 22 and 29 October.
Fifa, the world governing body, has also recently issued several recommendations and guidelines regarding transfers and contracts in the Coronavirus crisis. In German men’s football, two so-called registration periods are planned for transfers: from 1 July to 31 August 2020 and from 2 January to 1 February 2021.
It is still unclear when the new season of the Bundesliga will start. In talks is September 11 as a possible date for the first game. The last day of the current season takes place on June 27.
