US President Donald Trump has stated that negotiations with the opposition Democrats on a new Corona aid package have failed for the time being. Trump wrote to Twitter’s short messaging service on Tuesday that he had ordered his negotiators to suspend talks until the presidential election on November 3.
Trump’s tweets read, “Nancy Pelosi calls for $ 2.4 trillion to save badly-governed, highly criminal, democratic states, money that is in no way related to COVID-19.” The government is said to have made a “very generous offer” of $ 1.6 trillion.
Trump: economy is “very good”
The US economy is doing “very well,” Trump tweeted a day after he was released from hospital and returned to the White House despite corona infection. “Right after I win, we’ll have a big stimulus package that will target hard-working Americans and small businesses.”
In an initial reaction, the economy was shocked, and stock prices on Wall Street plummeted immediately. Trump accused the President of the House of Representatives, Democrat Nancy Pelosi, of failing to negotiate the aid in good faith.
The pandemic has left many people unemployed
The new utility included weekly unemployment benefits of $ 400. The Democrats wanted to roll over $ 600 a week.
Millions of people in the United States were put out of work because of the corona pandemic. Congress and the White House approved more than $ 3 trillion earlier this year. However, no new programs have been approved since March.
