US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has cut his scheduled visit to Asian countries. He made the change after President Donald Trump identified the coronovirus. UK news outlet Reuters reported the news on Sunday. According to the report, Pompeo will leave for Japan on Sunday. However, he is not going to Mongolia and South Korea, which are currently on a pre-arranged tour.
According to the pre-arranged schedule, Pompeo was scheduled to visit three Asian countries from 4 to 6 October. However, as Mongolia and South Korea were left with the new schedule, he would leave for Japan on 4 October and return to Washington on 8 October.
During his visit to Tokyo, Pompeo will meet with the Foreign Ministers of Japan, India and Australia.
Pompeo also stated that he is still physically healthy. He is avoiding personal meetings as a precaution. However, the Asia tour will not be canceled altogether.
