Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim celebrated a victory at the start of the Europa League. The team of trainer Sebastian Hoeneß triumphed in the first group match against the Serbian record champion Roter Stern Belgrade with 2-0 (0-0). For Hoffenheim, it is the second victory in the club’s history in their third European Cup participation.
Christoph Baumgartner (64th) and Munas Dabbur (90th + 3) met during the premiere of Hoeneß on the European stage. Belgrade coach Dejan Stankovic saw the yellow-red card after the goal for unsportsmanlike behavior. This Thursday (6.55 pm, in the live ticker on Chillreport) the Hoffenheim team will travel to KAA Gent in Belgium for their second match in Group L. The third opponent is Czech representative Slovan Liberec.
