An advisory panel from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Thursday recommended the vaccine for emergency use. On that basis, the FDA approved the vaccine on Friday.
Members of the expert panel voted 20–0 to approve the modern vaccine. According to him, the vaccine is not risky for people 18 and older.
Modern vaccines have been shown to be 94 percent safe and effective. The United States has agreed to purchase 200 million doses of the vaccine.
US President Donald Trump has expressed his displeasure on Twitter after the modern vaccine was approved. “Congratulations, the modern commentary is now available,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, on Friday, US Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen Pence publicly administered the Pfizer Kovid-19 vaccine. They take the vaccine publicly to encourage people to get vaccinated. The White House has said that President Trump will also be publicly vaccinated.
