Stuttgart (AP) – As expected, VfB Stuttgart has extended the contract of sports director Sven Mislintat for two years. The Bundesliga squad planner has signed a new contract that will be valid until June 30, 2023, as announced by VfB.
Mislintat’s original contract is said to have expired next summer. “He continued the restructuring of the team with great motivation and persistence, showing courage and foresight in addition to his great expertise,” said CEO Thomas Hitzlsperger.
Mislintat has been working as a sports director at the Swabia since April 2019. Shortly afterwards, they were relegated to the second division, and now VfB is one of the positive surprises of the still young Bundesliga season thanks to the numerous talents signed by Mislintat. “We want to continue on this path step by step – knowing full well that there can and will be setbacks,” said the 48-year-old, who previously worked as a squad planner at Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal FC.
