Wolfsburg (AP) – Sports director Jörg Schmadtke of VfL Wolfsburg expects ghost matches in the Bundesliga for several months. “I think we will stay in lockdown at least until mid-January.”

“We will have no spectators at the earliest in March / April, if at all,” the VfL sports director told the “Sportbuzzer”. His reasoning: “If we have to adhere to the ban on contact, the mass rallies will be difficult to monitor even in the open air. That’s why I don’t think we will get any spectators.”

The experienced Bundesliga manager advises professional football to be more humble in this discussion and to look at other sports in Germany. “They are on the verge of chaos. It could soon be the end of the day. And we are not in football,” said the 56-year-old. “We must stop believing that there is only us.”
