Berlin (dpa / tmn) – Cortana, Microsoft’s voice assistant, is alive in Windows 10. Regardless of whether the user needs it or not, Cortana runs in the background.
If you don’t use Cortana, i.e. you don’t need or use it, then you can just order it not to start automatically when Windows boots.
To do this, right click on the Windows start button, select “Task Manager”, then “more details” at the bottom of the window and go to the “Autostart” tab at the top.
Then right-click with the mouse on the “Cortana” item and select “Deactivate”. Finished. Cortana no longer automatically starts with Windows.
