The Bay of Piraeus is teeming with cargo ships, tankers and container ships. Now there was a collision in the large Greek Mediterranean port: two people were injured.

A minesweeper from the Hellenic Navy was badly damaged in a collision with a Portuguese container ship. At least two crew members of the Greek ship were injured.

The minesweeper lost his stern in the collision. It has a strong list, Greek State Television (ERT) reported. Two tugs attempted to tow the warship to the nearby naval base on Salamis Island. Initially nothing was known from official sources about the circumstances of the accident.
