Berlin (dpa) – Bundesliga club Werder Bremen does not want to send any of their national players to an international game after “kicker” information.
That would affect Marco Friedl (Austria), Milos Veljkovic (Serbia), Milot Rashica (Kosovo), Yuya Osako (Japan) or Josh Sargent (US). Only Czech goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka can travel to his selection team for next Wednesday’s international match against Germany.
The Bremen-based company would not break any rules, because according to the rules amended by the FIFA world association, there is no obligation to park matches in corona risk areas at least until the end of the year if a player is threatened after returning with a five-day quarantine, regardless of the test result. The Bremen Health Service insists on this precautionary isolation.
