Raubling (AP) – Three-time cycling world champion Peter Sagan has a guarantee for participation in the Tour de France with the German cycling team Bora-hansgrohe – even though his role could change in the coming years. This is what team boss Ralph Denk said to “Sport Bild”.
“A man with such experience as Sagan always has a place on the tour team. Even though he should act as a helper in the future,” said Denk. For the cycling team from Raubling in Upper Bavaria, sprinter Pascal Ackermann was able to start in the Tour de France for the first time next year in addition to the general ranking hope Emanuel Buchmann.
Slovak Sagan has already won the green jersey of the driver with the best points in the Tour de France seven times, but was beaten this year by Sam Bennett from Ireland. “You saw that Peter Sagan is not quite the fastest. That’s because of his age,” said Denk.
