Just like before the match in Berlin, where Youssoufa Moukoko became the youngest professional in the history of the Bundesliga thanks to his short assignment, the exceptional BVB talent was also central to the Champions League duel with Club Brugge. As the German-Cameroonian was able to set the next record just four days after his 16th birthday – and replace Céléstine Babayaro as the youngest player to play in the premier league.
The “Bild” now reports: The young talent is in the selection for BVB’s Champions League match tonight (9 p.m. / Chillreport live ticker) against Club Brugge. Can hope for his first appearance in the premier class. “Those who do more will also get the reward at the end,” Moukoko said in the current episode “09 Stories” on DAZN and beyond: “If you have such a dream, you should hunt it like a lion.”
The Nigerian Babayaro made his debut on November 23, 1994 at the age of 16 and 87 days in Bucharest at 1-1 for Anderlecht. Dortmund coach Favre left it open in advance whether he would call Moukoko into the selection: “We are very well occupied at the front. We have to wait for the final training”, said the Swiss. But now Favre has apparently made a decision.
Dortmund had already registered the young talent on the B-list for the Champions League before the team was nominated. So nothing stands in the way of the use of the 16-year-old.
