New York (AP) – German top tennis player Alexander Zverev meets Borna Coric in the quarter-finals of the US Open. The 23-year-old Croat won 7: 5, 6: 1, 6: 3 in his third round on Sunday against Australian Jordan Thompson (local time).
For Coric it is the first Grand Slam quarter-finals of his tennis career. Zverev previously beat Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6: 2, 6: 2, 6: 1 and was the first German since Tommy Haas in 2007 to reach the quarter-finals in Flushing Meadows. The match against Coric will take place on Tuesday.
